I know I haven’t uploaded anything recently, I’ve been taking this last month kind of slow and relaxed, since I’ve finished university. However, I’ve uploaded three new projects, which were all used towards my final university projects.
Survival Shooter Demo
This project is a free Unity demo where I replaced all the audio with my own original works. The music is the Haunted track which I’ve uploaded separately as a standalone piece. This project was used to gather primary research for my Dissertation for university. I’ll likely upload my finished Dissertation as well once I receive my final grades, for those that are interested in seeing how this project was used in relation to the Dissertation.
Haunted
This track was used within the Survival Shooter demo, however I decided to upload it separately as a standalone track as well. The atmosphere and setting of the survival shooter game is a cartoony, spooky zombie survival game, and I wanted to capture that within the music. I had a lot of inspiration for this track from a large amount of Halloween music and spooky cartoon music and I’m sure you’ll be able to see those references within this piece. Some elements of the standalone track was removed for the version used in the game, such as the crow samples, and a few other ambient sounds.
I created a complex dynamic FMOD Studio project where the music would change dynamically to what was happening in the game itself, however due to time constraints unfortunately I wasn’t able to get it working in the final build of the game in time. This is something I’d like to return to if I have time to get this working, as it was a lot of fun to create, and would greatly enhance the gameplay.
Closure
This track is a joint collaboration between myself and my former housemate. This track was used in my final projects for university as well. We recorded my housemate playing the piano, I took some of the best parts built a track around it. Sure there are some timing issues that I didn’t have enough time to fix, and looking back there might have been somethings I did differently, but ultimately I think it came out quite well.
Final Thoughts
I’m officially finished with university now, and I’m currently awaiting my final results. Now’s the time where I’m actively trying to find work, and taking my craft more seriously. I’ll likely start uploading more content more often, assuming I’ll be able to find the time too of course. In any case, follow me on Twitter for more regular updates!
